Brand Strategists as Change Agents

The difference between a brand strategist and a change management consultant is that the consultant gets paid for ‘change management’. The brand strategist doesn’t.

I have yet to work on a corporate branding project where the work did NOT require facilitating buy-in and change. That change could have been about growing faster, shifting cultural gears, aligning the message around a new purpose – getting the organization to think differently about their business or any number of various factors that provoke the need to up the ante on brand.

If you’re working on a brand team - you’re responsible for keeping the change gears running smoothly.

Brand strategy is about making change resonate and stick. If you're in the branding game, you're in the change game.
